Released today (probably the first of many Valentine’s Day releases) is the trailer for Valeba Raja, India’s first ‘’psycho-comedy film’’! Following the success of ‘Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya’, Santhanam, Sethu (pictured above), Vishakha Singh returns along with Nushrat Bharucha for what looks like an entertaining rom com.
Music has been assigned to newcomer Radhan, who himself has assigned two UK based artistes to add their international touch to one of the songs.
London based, independent music producers Arjun Coomaraswamy & Charles Bosco have added their magic to yet another Kollywood song, which features on the trailer from 0.20 to 0.58 seconds.
The ‘international version’ as they are popularly known, are funk’d up, DJ friendly versions of the title tracks. Anirudh’s ‘Oh Penne’ from Vannakkam Chennai & Yuvan’s “Bay of Bengal / Na na na” from Biriyani have so far undergone the treatment.
Commissioned by the film producers, the rework doesn’t necessarily feature in the film but gets featured on the promotional videos and the album. A win win for all three! The film producers who benefits from a cost effective way of marketing their film internationally, the artists behind the song who gain recognition in Kollywood, India’s second largest film industry, and finally the listeners, who get an awesome new version!
However, this version may actually make it onto the film! Fingers crossed.
“Arjun” Coomaraswamy, who is not only a music producer but a singer has recently signed to the Bollywood label ‘T Series.’ He sings the English part, whilst the singer of the Tamil segments remains elusive. No name has been mentioned but we love to know who they are!
