Sunitha Sarathy – Nimmadhi

South Indian singer Sunitha Sarathy has a pretty impressive lists of hits under her belt for a number of Tamil, Telugu and Hindi film songs. She came into the spotlight after winning the Virgin Voice Choice Contest in 2000, and debuted as a playback singer in 2002 for a song in the film "Hey! Nee Romba Azhaga Irukke". 

Her big breakthrough came when she sang for A. R. Rahman for Mani Ratnam’s film "Aayutha Ezhuthu", and she has since featured on numerous film soundtracks.

Yesterday, her independent solo single "Nimmadhi" released for download across the world. The singer has been given a lot of support by esteemed musicians including Shankar Mahadevan, who Tweeted "Wishing @sunithasarathy all the very best for her new single!!".

Award-winning, world renowned music director AR Rahman also showed his support, saying "Just finished recording a song with @sunithasarathy for Shankar’s I. Wish her the best for the release of her new single."
