Track of the Week #18

This week I have chosen a track from Director Bharathiraja’s latest film "Annakodiyum Kodiveeranum". He has worked with everyone from the Maestro Ilayarajah to A.R.Rahman, but this time the director has decided to go for A.R.Rahman’s nephew, G.V.Prakash Kumar for the village-themed film.

The film stars "Ko" fame actress Karthika Nair who is also the elder sister of "Kadal" actress Thulasi Nair, as well as Lakshman Narayan and the director’s son, Manoj Bharathiraja.

The song I have chosen is called "Nariga Oranga". With vocals by Santosh Hariharan, Pooja Vaidyanath and Harini Sudhakar, the track has a rural feel to it with catchy beats and a beautiful melody. The instrumental interludes are well-composed, and the track is one that holds your attention from start to finish. You may feel the song "Un Peru Sollum Pothu" from the film "Angadi Theru" coming back to you with similarities in the rhythm

Do check out this beautiful composition and let us know what you think!

Nish Raj is an avid music and movie fan based in London. He’s also a musician who specialises in percussion of all types, and he claims to be able to make beats out of "nearly anything". We’re yet to test his skills on this…
