We Are the World revisited

25 years ago, the world’s biggest names in music got together to raise around $30 million for African humanitarian programs and in 2010, this happens yet again, only this time, we have one Asian in this eclectic bunch of musicians, Tamil superstar, Double Grammy and Double Oscar winner, AR Rahman.

Everyone form Akon to Kanye West, Actors Vince Vaughn and Jeff Bridges, alongside stalwart singers like  Barbra Streisand, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, Earth Wind & Fire and it is produced by Lionel Richie and the original producer, the legendary Quincy Jones.

Henson Studios, in the vicinity of Hollywood’s Sunset Boulevard was the location where the A List of the music world turned up, high in security and everyone put their egos in check to raise money for Haiti.
