At a recent press meet, it was confirmed that music director Harris Jayaraj will be embarking on a world tour entitled "On The Edge". The award-winning music director has been behind many hit soundtracks in several languages. These include Vaaranam Aayiram, Anniyan, Kaakha Kaakha (Tamil), Orange, Dhrohi (Telugu) and his latest is Force (the Hindi remake of Kaakha Kaakha).
Kicking off in Chennai in early October, the tour will proceed to move through South India to Coimbatore and Hyderabad, before heading across to Dubai in mid-November. From there, Harris and his troupe will hit Kuala Lumpur for a concert on December 3rd, and then take on Europe, the USA and Canada in 2012.
The event sounds like it's going to be a musical and technological extravaganza, with a huge stage that will provide a 270-degree view for the spectators. The show will be directed by A. L. Vijay, who brought us Madrasapattinam and more recently, Deiva Thirumagal. Leading technological firm Techfront will be working with Harris to produce a show that will include 3D visuals, interactive displays and other unique features. A whole range of top singers - including Hariharan, Benny Dayal, Chinmayee and Shwetha Menon, to name a few - are part of the lineup, and the music director has said that he will also sing a few songs himself!
