What an awesome weekend in Canada at “Nuit Blanche - A Sweet Escape’’ hosted by Mac & York Tamil Student Association. Attended by over 1500 university students and professionals, the annual event was held at the spacious Pearson International centre. Geethams Banqueting transformed the venue, which accommodated the 1500 guests for a seated affair. Guests were entertained by performances from local talented singers, musicians and dancers. The event was compered by Youtube star “Superwoman,’’ a Canadian Punjabi who rose to fame amongst the young Tamil community thanks to her recent video-blog titled Magic Kothu Roti, which can be viewed below.
Flown in from the United Kingdom for a special guest performance was R&B singer Arjun who rose to fame with his English rework of ‘’Why this Kolaveri di.’’ Performing Remember Tonight and Kolaveri Di, his voice was drowned out by the continuous cheering and screaming shown in appreciation by his Canadian fans. Taking the crowd into the early hours were DJ’s Soundcrasher, Brown Soul & RLE, spinning a selection of the finest R&B, House & Gaana beats! A special mention to Mayu & Abi for a memorable trip and paraDOX dance crew who supported Arjun on stage. We feature a selection of photos from the event courtesy of Digitalplus photography.
