Everyone knows that you can find the world’s best musicians in YouTube’s video encyclopedia, but the videos that “go viral” are usually of cats playing the piano, or of children singing along to, but charmingly misquoting, top ten hits. But Shilpa became an unintentional YouTube sensation by leaving a personal stamp on covers, driving them with her distinct voice and playfully tinkering with melodies.

Introducing the very talented Shilpa Narayan from Atlanta, USA. A singer and musician, Shilpa lives and performs in New York and traces her heritage back to the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Carson Daly the host of the hit NBC show "The Voice" believes Shilpa has what it takes after watching her youtube cover of Adele's Turning Tables. He will be sending the clip to the producers of the hit American show. Check out the clip below and let us know if you think Shilpa deserves a spot on the Voice.

“I knew it was time to start channeling the influence of other artists, instead of making them the focal point of my music” says Shilpa. “Covers have taught me so much, and I want to apply that wisdom to my own stories.” Shilpa is releasing her album "Stand Alone" on May 22nd, 2012 and performing throughout New York.
