I too have a name

It was announced recently that Enakkum Oru Per (I Too Have A Name) by first time director Suba Sivakumaran has been selected to be screened at the Berlin Film Festival 2012. A total of 27 short films from 22 countries will compete for the Golden and Silver Bears in Berlinale Shorts 2012.

The film is about two women (a nun and a servant girl) who move in their daily lives to reconcile their past and redirect their future, in a time of violence in Sri Lanka. Set and shot entirely in Batticaloa, Sri Lanka, the film features Nimmi Harasgama (seen elsewhere in her comic incarnation of Auntie Netta) in a dramatic role, together with Subha Wijesiriwardena.

The director of the film is Suba Sivakumaran who was born in Jaffna, Sri Lanka, and currently resides in New York. The film will be submitted to various film festivals around the world. You can give your feedback at the Facebook page I Too Have A Name (Enakkum Oru Per).
