The trailer for Superstar Rajinikanth‘s upcoming film "Kochadaiyaan" will be unveiled at Cannes Film Festival later this year, it has been revealed. The Tamil period drama has been directed by his daughter Soundarya R. Ashwin, and also stars Bollywood beauty Deepika Padukone (who hails from South India herself). The highly-anticipated film also stars Sarathkumar, Shobana, Jackie Shroff and Nasser, with music directed by none other than the Mozart of Madras, AR Rahman.
The film will be released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi with dubbed versions also being released in English, Japanese, Italian and Spanish! Filming has been wrapped up, and the film is currently undergoing post-production. The film has already been watched by the cast and crew, and director Soundarya Tweeted to say "One of THE most important days of my life.Kochadaiyaan locked 🙂 Appa& ks Ravikumar uncle watched the entire movie and r thrilled!!! :):):)"
A few days ago it was revealed that the superstar – or Thalaivar as he is also known – wrapped up the dubbing for one half of the film is just one day! Soundarya took to Twitter to share a photo [above] of the team in the dubbing studio, saying "Hey guys…dubbing progressing in good pace. Appa completed first half in a day 🙂 our thalaivar rocks!!!"
Oscar-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty also shared on Twitter his amazement at the superstar’s work ethic, saying "It’s unbelievable his dedication and commitment to work, he finished the first half dub in a day?! Now I understand why Rajnikanth is a super star…!!"
Sources have said that Rajinikanth will be present to unveil the film’s international trailer at Cannes in May, and this will be the first time the icon attends the prestigious film festival.
