Sridevi has come back with a bang with new film "English Vinglish" which released in theatres across the globe today. The actress began her career in the Tamil film industry in the late 60s, as a child star, but her big break came in the film "Moondru Mudichu" in 1976. She established herself as a leading heroine in Kollywood, and by the 80s she had moved on to make her mark in Bollywood as well. This Southern beauty produced hit after hit, and is one of the few actresses to have been successful in both the North and South Indian film industries.
After a 14-year sabbatical, Sridevi has teamed up director Gauri Shinde for "English Vinglish", which tells the story of a housewife who decides to learn English to please her family. So, after such a long break from the big screen, can this iconic actress bring the same "Sridevi magic" back? Judging by the reviews so far, the answer is a resounding YES! The reviews are glowing, and it seems that Sridevi’s silver screen sparkle is still as bright as ever!
"English Vinglish" also stars French actor Mehdi Nebbou and Southern hottie Priya Anand, with music by Amit Trivedi.
