Thuppakki set for a Hindi remake

The film hasn’t even released yet, and already director AR Murugadoss has confirmed that Bollywood star Akshay Kumar will be starring in the remake of "Thuppakki".

The Tamil version of the film stars Ilayathalapathy Vijay and Kajal Agarwal in the lead roles, and is set to release later this year. Already the film has caused quite a stir, and the team have been embroiled in an on-going battle regarding the name of the film – the title "Kalla Thuppakki" has been registered for another film before this film’s name had been logged. As a result, the team have been cooking up alternative titles for Vijay’s film, with possibilities being "Mumbai Tamizhan" or "Saravedi".

With music by Harris Jayaraj, this highly-anticipated film is set for a Diwali release, alongside films such as Suriya’s "Maatran" and Kamal Hassan’s "Vishwaroopam".

It’s interesting that without even seeing how well "Thuppakki" does at the box office, Akshay Kumar has shown interest in the film…is the plot that good?!
