Hiphop Tamizha – Manithan Tamizhan

Chennai-based Hiphop Tamizha released a video for "Manithan Tamizhan" earlier this week. Initially, the plan was to release the video for the track "Iraiva" on Monday, but on the 27th, Adhi of HipHop Tamizha posted a photo of a handwritten note to Facebook:

It has since been revealed that the video for "Iraiva" will release on April 6th at an event at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Chennai.

The "Manithan Tamizhan" celebrates Tamil, looking at the history of the language and its influences on other cultures throughout history. The video also raises the issue of people who shun the heritage, choosing instead to embrace English alone as their chosen language.
