Katrina is a Barbie Girl

After walking the ramp for “Barbie All Doll’d Up” at Lakme Fashion Week 2009, to celebrate Barbie’s 50thBirthday, Katrina Kaif now has her own Barbie doll. The replica is dressed in an outfit similar to the one she wore at the 2009 fashion show, and also bears a facial resemblance to Katrina too – perfect for fans of the actress as well as avid Barbie-lovers as well!

Pamela Anderson takes on Bollywood?!

Recently, former Baywatch star and model Pamela Anderson was ushered into the “Bigg Boss 4” house, where she spent a few days with the housemates in the Indian version of TV reality show “Big Brother”.  She embraced Indian culture (in her own way), entering the house in a revealing white sari designed by Ashley Revello, and mastering a few Indian dishes in the kitchen during her brief stint in the house. While she has been popular with the male housemates, she has also caused a lot of controversy; the show was initially moved from a primetime slot to being aired after 11pm on the grounds of “objectionable content” – the producers managed to get a stay order on this ruling, however.  The blonde bombshell also revealed that she’d like to take on Bollywood, saying that it is “funny, colourful with a lot of song and dance”. I’m sure the boys in particular would love to see more of Ms. Anderson’s Bollywood dancing, after she performed in a sarong dress to popular song “Dhak Dhak  Karne Laga”!

Indian Idol winner goes global

Winner of 2010’s Indian Idol, Sreeram Chandra, will be recording a song called “Rehnuma” to feature in the end credits of the Tamil, Hindi and Telugu versions of upcoming film “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of The Dawn Treader”. Sreeram will be recording three versions of the song – one in each of the 3 languages – and will also shoot a video, featuring him singing as well as scenes from the film. Sreeram won Indian Idol 5, aired on Sony TV, and is the first South Indian to win this tough singing competition.  The film is due to be released in India on December 3rd this year.

India’s first 3D film

Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha have been confirmed as the lead pair for India’s first ever 3-Dimensional movie, entitled “Joker”. Beyond this, however, details are hazy; nobody seems willing to disclose what type of film it will be – all we know is that it is NOT about a joker in a circus, nor is it a superhero movie. Guess we’ll have to wait and see! The film, directed by Shirish Kunder, is slated for a December 2011 release.
